We’re Growing…

We’ve been very busy this week thinking about how best to meet the needs of our Students! 2019 so far has seen a huge growth in lesson enquiries. This is fantastic news, but we were actually getting to the point where we didn’t have any (or very limited!) spaces to offer for certain instruments! Although we do have an active waiting list for Students who are waiting for specific days and times, we generally try to find lesson spaces for people as quickly as possible, and so we’ve been working to add extra availability to our lessons.

So, as a result, we made the decision to add extra Singing availability. We spent last week interviewing teachers, and can reveal our two new Singing Teachers – Ashley and Meg! Ashley will be offering Singing Lessons on a Tuesday and Wednesday, and Meg will be teaching on a Monday evening and all day Saturday. That’s now 4 days open for Singing Lessons! The spaces are booking up almost as soon as they’re available, so watch this space – we may need to add another day soon!

In addition to extra Singing availability, we’ve also got new Piano Lesson spaces opening on a Saturday, as well as brand new Guitar and Ukulele Lessons available on Saturdays.

Happy Birthday Chopin

Frederic Chopin was born on 1st March 1810 in Warsaw, Poland. He was a leading figure of the Romantic era of music and was famous for composing pieces mainly for solo piano.

A child prodigy, at just 10 years old, Chopin wrote a march dedicated to the Grand Duke Constantine. During the last years of his life, Chopin supported himself by giving piano lessons (we’re sure these were in very high demand!)

Chopin unfortunately had a very short life, dying at the age of just 39 in Paris. He has a reputation as being one of music’s first “superstars”.

Saturday Student Focus

Joshua R. (Guitar)

Joshua is a fairly new Student to Sweet Symphony and has been having Guitar Lessons with us for about 7 months now. The piece of music he’s enjoyed learning most so far is “Alouette” and his favourite thing about his lessons is playing the guitar – fantastic! His fun fact is that he’s an animal-lover. So are we, Joshua!

Joshua is the latest entrant to our Saturday Student draw, which is being held at the end of March. If your name is pulled out, you’ll win a whole month of free tuition, so drop a card in our Student Focus box in the Waiting Room next time you’re in for a lesson! Then check out our weekly blog post and Facebook page to see if you’ve been featured this week. It’s that easy!
