Book an appointment with Sweet Symphony School Of Music using Setmore

Spring is almost here!

Is it just us, or does it seem very spring-like outside at the moment? It’s not before time – we’ve had our fill of the dreary dark days and freezing cold weather. It’s lovely to be able to keep the blinds open that little bit longer on an evening!

The (slightly) warmer weather is definitely having an effect on everyone’s moods as well. Students are coming to their evening lessons much more full of energy and ready for a challenge, which is great to see!

This week we welcome a(nother!) new member of staff to the Sweet Symphony team. We’re celebrating a famous birthday, and we reveal this week’s Saturday Student. Read on to find out more…

New Staff Alert!

Ben is one of our Piano Students and is now our newest staff member! He’ll be working on a Saturday as our Junior Administrator – meeting and greeting our Saturday Students and Parents, and generally helping out around the Studio. His help is much-needed, especially as our Saturdays continue to get busier and busier.

Welcome to the team, Ben!

Happy Birthday Handel

George Frideric Handel was born on 23rd February 1685. Originally German, he spent most of his time in London and actually became a British citizen in 1727.

One of his most famous works is Messiah, which he wrote in 1742, but did you know that he wrote the coronation anthem for King George II, and it’s been performed at every British monarch’s coronation since then! He died in 1759, was given a full state funeral and is buried in Westminster Abbey.

Saturday Student Focus

Lola J. (Piano/Singing)

Lovely Lola has been coming to us for over 2 years for her Piano Lessons, and passed her Initial Grade exam with us a little while back. Then, a few months ago she decided she’d like to take up Singing Lessons, too. Lola is a very all-round musical person, and says she loves learning new things in her lessons because it’s helping her with her music lessons at school as well as her dancing (she’s a very busy girl!) Her favourite pieces so far have been “I’m Happy” and “Reggae”. Lola’s fun fact is that she’s obsessed with pugs! Awww!!

Well done Lola, you’ve earned yourself an entry into our draw. Not long now until the first one takes place, so get yourself in with a chance of winning a free month’s tuition by dropping a card into our Saturday Student Focus box in the Waiting Room! Then check out our weekly blog and Facebook post to see if your name is being featured this week!
