PORTAL HOW-TO…Book A Make Up Lesson

After their first lesson with us, every Student (and Parent) is given access to our Online Student Portal. Once logged in, you’ll have access to a whole range of useful tools, including cancelling lessons, booking Make Up Lessons, seeing all of your previous lesson notes, downloading useful lesson resources and much, much more!

Today’s blog explains how to book a Make Up Lesson.

What Is A Make Up Lesson?

We realise that sometimes things pop up, and you can’t always attend your lessons as planned. Under our Studio’s cancellation policy, if a Student can give 24 hours’ notice of a cancellation, they’ll get that lesson back as a “Make Up Lesson”. Then they can use the lesson somewhere else in their Teacher’s schedule.

Make Ups are created automatically when a Student cancels a lesson on the Portal, provided they’ve given at least 24 hours’ notice. For more help on using the Portal to cancel a lesson, click here).

To book a Make Up, log in to the Student Portal with your email address, and the password you set upon joining Sweet Symphony (if you can’t remember this, just drop us an email and we’ll send it through for you again!)

How To Book A Make Up Lesson

Once you’ve logged in, your homepage will show how many Make Ups you have to use. Then, just follow these easy steps:

1. Click on the Calendar tab. There, you’ll see all of the various spaces your Teacher has available in their schedule to accommodate a Make Up lesson.
   
2. Look for a space which is age-appropriate (HINT: they’re colour-coded according to age!)
   
3. Click on the space, and select “Register”

That’s it! You’re booked in! It really is that easy!

Make Up spaces are created automatically when another Student cancels their lesson. Because of this, we can’t predict when or where these will appear. We do try and contact Students if we see a spot which we think would be perfect for them, but unfortunately we can’t always keep on top of everyone’s schedule. The best way to ensure you find spaces to use your Make Ups is to regularly log into the Portal.
