In today’s Meet The Teacher blog post, we’re introducing you to the latest addition to our Woodwind teaching team – Mark Leadbeater.
Who is Mark?
Mark is the music lead at Thornhill Academy in Sunderland. He’s been teaching Secondary Music for over 25 years. He has experience teaching Students of all ages as well as children with SEND. He has a teaching diploma in Flute, but can also teach Saxophone and Piano.
His favourite genre of music is Film Music, and he says that quite often, he’ll listen to a soundtrack before seeing the film. As you’d maybe expect, some of his favourite composers are John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Michael Giacchino.
Mark was initially just teaching on a Friday evening, but his timetable filled up really quickly and so we were soon on the phone asking if he could add another night to his teaching. He very kindly agreed! And so now he’s available Monday, Thursday and Friday evenings from October.
