We had a really busy week in the Studio last week! It was our April Enrolment Week, which means we welcomed lots of new Students to Sweet Symphony. In addition, we received our first exam results of 2019, welcomed a new Teacher and awarded a month of free tuition to one lucky Student. Phew!
Exam Success
Our 2019 exam record has got off to a great start! We received the results back from our two recent Rock & Pop Guitar Students – Matthew and Ellis -as well as our latest ABRSM Music Theory exam entrant, Robyn. All Students passed with flying colours and we couldn’t be more proud! Well done to all 3!
Our next Trinity exam session takes place at the Studio this weekend, and so everyone is making final preparations this week! The session starts at 9am and is scheduled to run through until around 6pm. If you’re taking part in this exam session please remember to arrive at least 15 minutes before the time stated on your exam form to ensure you benefit from a warm-up before going in for your exam.
Exam results are often given to us at the end of the session, and we’ll be sure to pass on the results to everyone as soon as we have them.
New Singing and Guitar Lessons
We welcomed another new Teacher to Sweet Symphony last week. Meg is our newest Teacher and will be teaching Singing Lessons on Monday evenings and all day Saturday. Thanks to our fantastic new Teachers, our Singing Lessons are really taking off. No sooner have we released new spaces than they are booked up!
We’ve seen a lot of adult Students sign up for Singing Lessons recently, too, which is great to see as quite often we get enquiries from adults who always start their enquiry with “I’m probably too old to learn.” Absolutely not! As long as you’re enthusiastic and willing to learn and practice it doesn’t matter how old you are! Sweet Symphony is dedicated to providing professional, friendly tuition for ALL ages and abilities.
As with our Singing Lessons, our Guitar Lessons have been operating at near-full capacity for some time now. Guitar is definitely one of the most popular instruments on offer at Sweet Symphony, and so we’ve taken the plunge and decided to take on another Guitar/Ukulele Teacher. Our new Teacher Michael was originally due to start with us in June, but we’ve managed to bring his start-date forward to May, so we can offer loads of new spaces for booking immediately!
Michael will be teaching on a Monday and Thursday evening, and we can’t wait to welcome him to Sweet Symphony. If you’d like to book lessons with Michael please get in touch with us sooner rather than later as we anticipate spaces to be snapped up quickly!
Saturday Student Focus Winner
We caught up with our first Saturday Student Focus winner last week. In our waiting room we have a small box on the wall, in which we ask Students to pop a small paper slip where they tell us a little about themselves and their time with us at Sweet Symphony. Each Saturday throughout 2019 we’ve chosen a Student at random and turned the focus on them. In addition to their 15 minutes of fame, everyone who is featured is entered into a quarterly draw where they can win a whole month of free tuition.
Our first winner was drawn last week and was young Joshua R. He was very surprised when he was told he’d won!
Our next quarterly competition has begun, so if you fancy being in with a chance of winning make sure to fill out a slip next time you’re in the waiting room!
