Now that we’re firmly into the New Year, it’s given us a chance to look back and analyse our 2022 music exam results.
Last year, there were a total of 44 Students who sat music exams with us. We’ve been embracing the newest form of music exams – digital exams – whereby Students must film their exam and then submit the video to be marked by an examiner. We held digital exam sessions most months, meaning Students were able to perform their exam at the best time for them, and not have to wait around for month on end for the next face-to-face session, wasting lesson time and practice time going over the same material in the meantime.
Exam Boards
The most popular exam board used by Students in 2022 was Trinity (41). Also used were Trinity Rock & Pop (2) and LCM (1).
Instruments
Our most popular instrument being examined was Piano, with 25 Students sitting piano exams last year. This was followed by Singing (11) and Acoustic Guitar (4).
Results
Ahh, the important bit! Well, 2022 was a great year for exam results – Sweet Symphony achieved another 100% pass-rate with all their Students’ exams. Among those passes, 18.2% achieved Distinction, 54.5% achieved Merits and 27.3% achieved Passes.
Our highest achiever was a Violin Student named Vanessa, who achieved an astonishing 98% in her Grade 1 Violin exam. Wow!
Conclusion
All in all, a fantastic year for everyone sitting music exams with Sweet Symphony. We hope to continue this great level of success into next year!
