Welcome to Sweet Symphony School of Music – Your Gateway to Guitar mastery!

At Sweet Symphony School of Music, we’re excited to offer exceptional Guitar lessons.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned player looking to refine your skills, our dedicated instructors are here to help you unleash your musical potential on the Guitar.

My son is coming up to his first month of guitar lessons at Sweet Symphony and it’s been absolutely brilliant for him! He’s learned so much in such a short space of time. His confidence has grown and his teacher clearly knows his stuff. The payment process is straight forward and the online portal is useful. Not only that, but I get weekly class notes to my email inbox to remind us what was covered and what needs practising. There’s also a large public car park outside which is a big bonus.

Hi! I’m Louise and I’m the founder of Sweet Symphony School of Music.

Sweet Symphony’s aim is to give people from all social, economic and academic backgrounds access to professional, affordable music tuition. We’ve been around since 2007 and that aim is still as relevant today as when I first started.

Guitar FAQ

Do you teach adults as well as children?

Yes! All ages are welcome to attend our lessons. We have adult lessons running throughout the week, from absolutely beginners through to advanced players so don’t worry, we’ll find the perfect class for you.

Do I need to bring along my own instrument?

For new Students, we do have a few guitars in the Studio which can be used if you’re maybe not sure which size would fit you best, or if you’d prefer to have a few lessons before buying an instrument. But generally we’d say it’s best for you to bring along your own instrument. Plus – you’ll need an instrument at home to practise on!

Do you offer Bass lessons as well as regular guitar?

Yes! We can offer Acoustic, Bass, Classical and Electric guitar lessons, so whichever instrument you prefer there’ll be a lesson spot for you!

At which age can my child start guitar lessons?

Although we take on children from age 4, generally we find 7 is a good starting age for guitar lessons. For younger children, we’re recommend starting with ukulele lessons first as they’re much easier for small hands to play!

I’m a left-handed player: can you still teach me?

Yes! We can teach both left- and right-handed guitar players, don’t worry!

Can you help me restring my guitar?

Yes, your teacher can show you how to restring your guitar so you can manage it easily in the future. If you need new strings, we also have supplies within the Studio which you can buy.

Can I sit guitar exams?

While we encourage students to consider guitar exams when they reach an appropriate proficiency level, participation is entirely optional. At Sweet Symphony, we offer guitar exams through three different exam boards: Trinity, Rock & Pop, and LCME. This diverse range allows us to match each Student’s unique and preffered playing style to the best syllabus.
