❓Flute Lesson FAQs❓
Absolutely. Although we do encourage students to sit exams when they’re ready, we realise that they’re not for everyone. Playing for pleasure should always be the first and foremost aim when learning a musical instrument.
As a registered Trinity exam centre, Sweet Symphony conducts all flute exams right here at our studio.
It all depends on the instrument – we begin our Preschool Piano, Ukulele and Singing Lessons from age 3. For flute, we can start from age 4 with the student using the fantastic jFlute (read about this in our blog post here). If you don’t want to use a jFlute, we’d recommend lessons with a regular instrument from around age 8.
Absolutely. Many of our students are adults who’ve always wanted to learn – or who are returning to music after years away.
Unfortunately, no. Due to hygiene reasons, we can’t lend out woodwind instruments to be used by students. If you’re looking for an instrument at a good price, we can recommend some local music retailers to help you purchase your flute ready for lessons.
We’ll start with posture, breathing and tone production before moving onto simple tunes you’ll recognise and love.
Usually within your first few weeks! You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can make beautiful sounds with the right guidance.
