FAQ

Still on the fence about starting music lessons? Maybe there are just a few things playing on your mind – a few questions you want the answers to first?

This is where our FAQ page comes in! Here, we’ll answer lots of the questions we’re asked on a daily basis about lessons at Sweet Symphony School of Music, to try and help you feel more confident before signing up!

How Long Are Lessons?

Our standard lesson length for most Students is 30 minutes, although we do have some older/advanced Students who have 60 minute lessons.

How Much Are Lessons?

Price varies depending on whether you’re taking group lessons or enjoying 1:1 tuition. Tuition is a flat-rate, fixed monthly price, based on 42 lessons per calendar year.
1:1 tuition is £66.50 per month, and group lessons are £47.25 per month.

How Long Do I Need to Commit?

We don’t believe in long commitment periods – we know that life can change very quickly and you may need to make changes. Plus, kids aren’t always known for their long-term commitment to things!!
Once you sign up, you’re committed for that month. That’s it. If you decide not to continue lessons with us, just let us know before your next payment on the 1st of the month and we’ll remove you fron our schedule, with no further payments due.

Do You Have Recitals?

We do! We usually hold one large end-of-year recital as well as hosting several smaller Student Showcase events throughout the year, both privately in the Studio and also in public venues. All Students – young/old, beginner/advanced – are encouraged to take part in performances, but it’s never mandatory!

What if I Miss A Lesson?

Using our online Portal, you can cancel any lessons you know you won’t be able to attend. You’ll be given a Reschedule Credit which allows you to find another spot on your Teacher’s schedule to fit in the lesson so you don’t lose out!

What Age is Best to Start Lessons?

It all depends on the instrument (and the Student!) We have Preschool programmes available for Singing, Piano and Ukulele. With Woodwind and String instruments, we’d usually recommend from age 4/5. But this is just a guideline. If you’re unsure, why not book a one-off trial lesson to see how your child takes to the lessons.
