Student of the Month Mar 2023: Ivy W. (Piano)

It was congratulations to Ivy this month, who walked away with our March Student of the Month award!

Ivy has been taking Piano Lessons for several years now, and sat her Grade 5 Piano exam with us last year. Since then, she’s been working hard on ensuring her music theory knowledge is on par with her practical abilities.

Ivy’s piano teacher nominated Ivy for this month’s award, saying:

“I’m nominating Ivy for working hard on theory each week and also between lessons. She’s completed 2 books in a short space of time to catch up to her high standard of piano-playing. Ivy has quickly learned new skills such as composing, transposing, also reading and writing in a new clef.”

Amazing comments, Ivy, well done! Music theory is quite often neglected by Students (although not here at Sweet Symphony – we’re a stickler for understanding what you play!) but it’s so important in your overall development as a competent musician. We’re very proud of you!
