Vacancy – Singing Teacher
We’re currently looking to recruit a new friendly, committed, reliable and passionate Singing Teacher to work with us here at Sweet Symphony, to enable us to be able to expand our availability for new enquiries.
This role will appeal to proficient singers who are creative, energetic and passionate about impacting the future of vocal teaching.
Being able to offer tuition in multiple instruments will be viewed as a bonus
This position is a self-employed position, with Teachers able to set their own availability, but we do require the successful candidate to be available on Wednesday & Friday evenings (4-8pm) as a minimum.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality Singing Lessons as both 1:1 tuition and in small group format, that are appropriate to the age and ability level of individual Students
- Motivating and encouraging Students in order to further develop their learning
- Preparing Students for music exams if and when appropriate
- Providing Students and their families with timely feedback after each lesson using the Sweet Symphony Online Student Portal
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- A high standard of Singing ability (Grade 8 equivalent or above)
- Good communication skills, in both written and spoken English
- The ability to work well as an individual but also as part of our larger team of Teachers working with Sweet Symphony
- Experience in working with children
- Excellent time-keeping and reliability
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Music degree or Music diploma
- Teaching experience or Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience in performing in a variety of musical genre
- Experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs
All applicants must hold, or be willing to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check, or be registered on the DBS Update Service.
We also require Public Liability Insurance, Professional Indemnity Insurance and regular Safeguarding training, although we can help with acquiring all of these.
